Networks Intern Job Description Fall 2025
Position: Fall 2025 ACT Networks Intern
Organization: ACT-the Alliance for Climate Transition
Schedule: 20 hours/week for 12 weeks
Location: Mostly virtual, with possibility of in-person meetings (company
is based in Somerville, MA at Greentown Labs)

Position Overview:
ACT is seeking support to manage engagement with our Climate Economy Roundtable
(CER) and Strategic Partner Networks (SPN). CER is a convening of company executives
with a deep commitment to achieving a just transition to a climate economy for networking,
learning, sharing, and impact. SPN is a corporate membership network and program that
engages Utilities and leading global corporations building their energy innovation relationships
across the Northeast’s cleantech ecosystem and markets.
Responsibilities:
Support the engagement with members of both networks, planning and executing events
including:
● Manage communications with members
● Engage current members of the CER and SPN to get their feedback and ideas for
strengthening the networks
● Research and map strategic priorities to bring before the CER and SPN
● Plan events for CER and SPN, including setting the agenda, conWirming speakers and
communications with participants
● Other tasks as assigned by the VP Innovation & Partnerships and/or the President
In addition, the intern will meet regularly with their supervisor for coaching and to provide updates.
The intern is also invited to attend weekly ACT staff meetings and participate in the ACT
mentorship program.

ACT is the only organization in the Northeast that covers all of the clean energy market segments, representing the business perspectives of investors and clean energy companies across every stage of development. ACT members span the broad spectrum of the clean energy industry, including clean transportation, energy efficiency, wind, solar, energy storage, microgrids, fuel cells, and advanced and “smart” technologies.
ACT includes the ACT Council (a nonprofit business member organization) and ACT Institute (a nonprofit focused on industry research, innovation, policy development and communications initiatives). POSITION BACKGROUND
Public policies are major drivers for the clean energy industry, which operates in the context of a highly regulated environment. The six New England states and New York have implemented a portfolio of clean energy policies and a diverse set of nation-leading programs that have both near- and long-term impacts on the acceleration of regional clean energy companies and jobs, and the adoption of clean energy solutions to energy and environmental concerns, including energy costs, energy source diversity, energy security, and reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) and other emissions.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
ACT is seeking a policy intern to support the Policy and Government Affairs team. Reporting directly to the Director of Public Policy, the policy intern will be responsible for supporting ACT’s policy development and policy advocacy efforts across the Northeast. ● Regulatory and legislative bill tracking and preparation of summary reports

● Attending events and webinars, by ACT and external organizations

This internship is a tremendous opportunity to work with seasoned energy policy experts and provides exposure to some of the most successful and rapidly growing businesses in the clean energy industry in the Northeast and nationally.
The policy internship is part-time (max 20 hours per week) and will work mostly remotely, with opportunities to visit ACT’s Boston area office, in alignment with ACT’s organizational policies. The intern will work with the Policy and Government Affairs team, which includes ACT’s President, the Vice President, Director of Public Policy, and Legislative and Regulatory Analyst.
