Overview: The Investment Analyst will work closely with other members of the SeaAhead team. NECEC is seeking a policy intern to support the Policy and Government Affairs team. The policy intern will be responsible for supporting our policy development and advocacy efforts across the Northeast. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Position Overview:
NECEC is seeking an intern to support initiatives in the clean energy sector. The primary goal of this position is to map out the landscape of partners and investors who work with incubators and other organizations that work with startups and can recommend them to the Navigate program in the Northeast.
The Navigate Program leverages NECEC’s networks to provide cleantech startups ranging from pilot stages to further commercialization, access to resources, and business support to grow and scale.
They play an essential role in the ecosystem as we look ahead to the region’s 2050 goals and the amount of equipment that needs to be installed, whether solar, wind, offshore wind, heat pumps, electrical grid equipment, or EV charging stations, significant job growth is necessary in these subsectors. NECEC wants to expand our investor and partnership networks and their perspectives on the future.
Responsibilities:
As part of this role, you will be responsible for supporting the engagement with members from both networks. This involves planning and executing events, as well as conducting research related to Investors and Partners. Specifically, your tasks will include:
Researching and mapping partners and investors in the region.
Identifying leads for potential partners or investors
Analyzing the potential products and services and Navigate could provide these companies with support for their engagement in the just transition.
Identify Companies from across North America and Europe (companies from outside the USA eager to develop and/or expand their business in the USA, especially in Massachusetts)
Identify actively seeking investment (series seed, A, B or C), corporate customer, and/or strategic partnership
Preparing a comprehensive report for NECEC staff that clearly understands the landscape within the incubator partner and investor network sector.
Other tasks are assigned by the VP of DEIJ, WFD, Director of Navigate, and/or the President.
In addition, the intern will meet regularly with their supervisor for coaching and to provide updates. The intern is also invited to attend weekly NECEC staff meetings and participate in the NECEC mentorship program.

Overview: Adept Materials is a startup company that develops climate-regulating coatings and films that increase the durability, energy efficiency, and comfort of buildings. We are looking to recruit a Green Building Intern who will apply numerical methods to assess the energy and moisture performance of Adept Materials’ products in buildings. The Green Building Analysis Intern will play a meaningful role in developing energy impact analyses, life cycle assessments (LCAs), and case studies that Adept plans to report during the commercial launch of its first products. The CCR Intern will support Roots 2Empower’s Energy & Environmental Justice program, which focuses on building collaborative climate resilience strategies with Rhode Island’s environmental justice community members. As part of that program, this position will research climate resilience models, present them to the R2E team, and make recommendations for focus areas in our 2025 Community Climate Conversations. Towards this goal, the CCR intern will synthesize data from past dialogues with policy research and information about what climate impacts present the greatest threat to RI’s environmental justice communities to ensure recommendations are informed by the lived experience of the people we serve. In addition, the CCR intern will attend virtual statewide coalition meetings and assist with the planning and execution of community events.
This is a hybrid position. The CCR Intern will work remotely approximately 85% of the time with some field work and in-person meetings, events, and educational opportunities.

Outreach and Engagement Intern
Green Energy Consumers Alliance is a non-profit organization that enables people to make green energy choices in the most cost-effective, practical and seamless ways possible, and to advocate for energy policies that benefit the greater good. Our energy programs offer New Englanders: information on and help making the switch to electric cars; green electricity for homes, offices, and whole communities; efficient electricity & heating; and advocacy for climate-friendly energy policy.
Green Energy Consumers Alliance recently received a grant from RI DEM to facilitate community engagement sessions in Rhode Island around elements of the 2025 Climate Action Strategy. This internship specifically focuses on supporting our Rhode Island Policy Associate with work on this grant.
Internship responsibilities include:
Assist in community outreach and education, specifically facilitating community engagement and participation in events;
Assist in materials for presentation development;
Assist in reading and analyzing Rhode Island’s climate plans and policies;
Assist in event management;
Assist in collaborating with community partners for each in-person event;
Help plan and assist as-needed with scheduled in-person and virtual discussions;
Assist in webinar coordination and development;
